Terre di mezzo

“Ad incontrare i miei nuovi amici,
a coltivare le nuove terre,
a liberare le nostre speranze”
ma quante verità …
per quanti muri del pianto
“Dove vai fratello di Israele?”
“ad abbracciare il vecchio nemico, ad insegnare
Ai nostri bambini che noi vivremo insieme per sempre”
Per sempre
Noi vendicheremo il nostro sangue.
Terre di mezzo, terre di nessuno,
luoghi desolati tra due nazioni
Ti senti uno straniero nessuno si ferma
Le passi veloce dopo un confine
Terre di mezzo terre di nessuno
Terre di mezzo nella vita,
frontiere dimenticate.
Strade percorse in fretta
senza alzare mai lo sguardo.
Terre fra barricate vuote,
terre fra muri del pianto,
più alti giorno per giorno,
per chi piange da solo nella propria verità.
Coltiveremo le terre di mezzo
Cresceremo le terre di tutti.
Ma quante sono le terre di mezzo?

How many truths, how many?
How many Wailing Walls?
“Where are you going, my brother from Israel?”
“I’m going to embrace the enemy of yesterday,
Going to teach our children that we’ll all live together forever”
Forever
We will avenge the blood of our blood.
Lands In-between, No men’s lands
Desolate places,in-between countries
Nobody is at home here, nobody ever stops here.
We all rush through them, soon after crossing the border
Lands In-between, No men’s lands
Lands in-between, in-between our lives,
Long-forgotten frontiers
Roads that we all tread in great hurry,
Our heads held low, never raising our eyes.
Lands stretching between abandoned barricades,
And wailing walls towering on both sides,
Walls, growing taller every day,
For those all who cry, alone with their own truth.
We will sow and farm the Lands In-Between
And we will grow them into Lands of Everyone.
But how many Lands in-between are there?
